At Arrowhead Women’s we are able to help diagnose and treat PCOS. PCOS is a hormonal disorder common among women of reproductive age. Women with PCOS may have infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods or excess male hormone (androgen) levels and difficulty getting pregnant. The exact cause is unknown but the belief is that many factors contribute including insulin resistance, increased levels of hormones called androgens, and an irregular menstrual cycle.

We are able to do expansive lab testing and ultrasound to help confirm and treat this diagnosis. We are able to also treat and counsel about the potential symptoms from this diagnosis including insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, difficulty conceiving, and difficulty with weight loss.
