Minimally Invasive Surgery
At Arrowhead Women’s Center, we want our patients to experience procedures that are as minimally invasive as possible. That is why we are proud to offer different procedures to allow for a wide array of conditions to be treated quickly and effectively.
Da Vinci Myomectomy & Hysterectomy Surgical System
The da Vinci surgical system is used for both myomectomies and hysterectomies. It only requires a few small incisions during a procedure so that you can return to your daily life quickly. There are many benefits to this state-of-the-art technology when compared to traditional surgery for fibroids and hysterectomies, including:
- Less blood loss
- Faster recovery with shorter hospital stays
- Less narcotic pain medicine necessary
- Smaller incisions, and minimal scars
- Fewer complications during surgery
- Decreased risk of wound infections
- Ability to return to normal activities faster
This technology allows for your Arrowhead Women’s Center physicians to perform complex procedures through only a few small incisions. Your physicians experience enhanced functions with the da Vinci Surgical System, including high definition 3D views of anatomical structures and magnification.
The da Vinci system has been known to help treat a wide variety of conditions, including, but not limited to:
- Chronic pain
- Heavy bleeding
Essure Permanent Birth Control
At Arrowhead Women’s Center, we offer Essure as a method of permanent birth control. This birth control method works with a woman’s body to prevent pregnancy. This procedure is performed at our Arrowhead Women’s Center office and only takes 10 minutes. There are no hormones used, making this a more natural birth control method than other pills.
The Essure insert is designed to slide into each fallopian tube and remain secure. The Essure inserts form a protective barrier that prevents pregnancy. This birth control method is simple, surgery free, and extremely effective at permanently preventing pregnancy.
Genesys HTA System
The Genesys HTA System treatment is used to reduce the heaviness of periods. This is an outpatient treatment method that uses heated saline to treat the endometrium, or uterine lining.
The procedure is simple and non-invasive. The uterus is first filed with saline. Next, the saline is then heated and comes in contact with the uterine walls. This heat will destroy endometrium, and the procedure takes about 10 minutes. The uterus is then flushed with cool saline to complete the procedure. Your Arrowhead Women’s Center Physician will discuss if this treatment could be a good choice for you.
